WHAT IS FUE

FUE stands for Follicular Unit Extraction. Individual hair follicles are taken one at a time from the back and sides of your head — the areas genetically resistant to hair loss — and placed into the thinning or bald areas. Because follicles are removed individually rather than as a strip of skin, FUE leaves no linear scar. The donor area heals as tiny dots that disappear under short hair within days.

Why the result looks natural

The difference between a transplant that looks obvious and one nobody notices comes down to angle, density and hairline design. Every follicle is placed to match the direction your hair already grows, and the hairline is drawn to suit your face and your age — not a template. This is the part that takes real surgical judgement, and it is why we do not rush a consultation.

It is permanent

Transplanted follicles keep the properties of the donor area, so once they settle in and start growing they behave like the hair they came from. This is your own hair, growing where you want it, and you can cut it, style it and wash it exactly as normal.

Is an FUE hair transplant right for you?

Most people come to us after years of trying to manage hair loss. A transplant is where you stop managing it and start reversing it.
You are likely to be a good candidate if:
  • Your hair loss has been gradual rather than sudden
  • You have healthy hair at the back and sides to use as a donor area
  • You want to rebuild a receding hairline, thinning temples or a crown
  • Includes complimentary LED therapy
  • You are in good general health
Not everyone is suitable, and active hair loss may need stabilising first. That’s why the free consultation gives you an honest answer, with no obligation to book.

Your hair transplant, step by step

Step 1 — Your free consultation
We assess your hair loss and donor area, design your hairline, agree grafts and give you a fixed written quote. No pressure, no charge.

Step 2 — Preparing for the day
Clear instructions on what to avoid, what to bring and what to expect. Most people take four to five days off work.

Step 3 — The procedure
A single day at our London clinic under local anaesthetic. You’re awake and comfortable while follicles are individually extracted and placed.

Step 4 — The first two weeks
Gentle washing starts around day five. The donor area heals quickly, while transplanted hair sheds around weeks two to three — completely normal.

Step 5 — Months three to six
New growth appears and begins to thicken. This is when most people start noticing the difference.

Step 6 — Months nine to eighteen
Density continues to build and your final result takes shape. Follow-up consultations continue throughout.

Hair transplant cost in London

Hair transplants in the UK typically run from £3,000 to £10,000 depending on the number of grafts. Ours start at £2,999, with the full package above included.
  • FUE Hair Transplant From £2,999 or from £249 per month over 12 months
Your exact price depends on how many grafts you need, which is something we can only tell you properly once we have looked at your donor area and agreed on a plan. You will be given a fixed, written quote at your consultation — before you decide anything.

Spreading the cost

Most of our patients pay monthly. From £249 a month over 12 months puts a permanent result inside a normal monthly budget, which is often the difference between thinking about it for another two years and actually doing it.

WHY HAVE IT DONE IN LONDON

Overseas packages may look cheaper, but a transplant doesn’t end when you fly home. Shedding starts at 2–3 weeks, regrowth around month three, and results take 12–18 months. That’s when you want ongoing, hands-on support — not a clinic answering messages from another country.

Hair transplant FAQs

Does it hurt?
The procedure is done under local anaesthetic, so you should not feel pain during it. Most people describe the anaesthetic injections as the only uncomfortable part. Afterwards there is usually mild soreness and tightness for a few days, which is managed with ordinary pain relief.
Most cases are completed in a single day. The exact length depends on the number of grafts.
Four to five days is what we usually recommend. You can go back sooner, but the first few days involve some swelling and visible redness in the recipient area.
The transplanted hair sheds at around two to three weeks — this is normal. New growth starts at roughly three months, thickens through months six to nine, and the final result is clear at twelve to eighteen months.
FUE does not leave a linear scar. The donor area heals as tiny dots that are not visible once the hair grows back, even at short lengths.
Yes. The transplanted follicles come from areas that are genetically resistant to hair loss, and they keep that resistance once moved. They are yours for life.
Yes — a transplant restores what has already gone, but it does not stop hair loss elsewhere from progressing. We will talk you through how to protect the hair you still have at your consultation.
Age matters less than pattern. What matters is whether your hair loss has settled into a predictable pattern and whether you have enough donor hair. We treat patients across a wide age range, and we will tell you honestly if waiting would give you a better long-term result.
From £2,999, or from £249 a month over 12 months. Your exact price depends on graft count and is fixed in writing at your consultation.
Come in anyway. We see patients who want density added to earlier work or a hairline corrected, and we will give you a straight assessment of what can be improved.
